This week’s #SupportTheReal feature is emcee Chris Crooks.
Chris Crooks started recording at the Elementz Hip Hop Center in downtown Cincinnati as a teenager, and began making music in 2012. His first Rap album being 50 Cent’s “Get Rich Or Die Tryin”, he was also heavily influenced by 2Pac, Biggie, Kanye West, Jay-Z and others. Known to work closely with Dayton producer Crewsheff, Crooks just dropped the “He Got Game” themed EP titled “Everybody Needs Jesus”, with two tracks featuring co-conspirator Turich Benjy.
Chris Crooks is highly regarded musically by his peers and the city itself. He’s feels he is always a student of Rap, and is focused on relaying positive messages to the youth in the city.
Catch Chris Crooks live at Southgate House in Newport on July 14th, and at the Midwest Movement Art Show in Dayton on July 17th. Find more info about these shows and Chris Crooks through his social channels, on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram @chriscrooks.
